Romantic Couple on beach

June 07 “Back again for our FOURTH visit and our first in winter. I think we like it even more! This house and this place are becoming etched in our daughter’s memory and in our Labrador’s memory, as one of the best places in the world.

We finally saw a koala out back and the rosellas and parrots are glad we came. No kookas or cockatoos this time, though. Wonderful walks on the beach and shell collecting – like it was our own private beach! See you again in a few months.” Stephanie, Alec, Allegra and Molly.

May 07 “Usually TreeTops means relaxing on the deck under those superb gums and enjoying the birds and the roar of the sea. But today we are inside – the beach below is deserted and the wet tree trunks have taken on lovely colors and patterns AND we are cosy and warm with a blazing fire and the heavenly sound of rain on the roof! Bliss!” Peg.

May 07 “This was a fantastic break even though it was only three days.  The house was fantastic with big log fire and the birds feeding in the morning, a beautiful feast of color.  I will e-mail some photos.  My brother Andrew loves this place.  I would certainly like to come back next year, the next time I am in OZ.” Bruce, East Sussex, UK.

May 07 “Had a really great, relaxing great weekend -- everything we needed was here and we really appreciated all the special touches for the dog.” John, Lee and Charlie.

April 07 “We came all the way from England to stay in the treehouse!  What a beautiful location.  Highlights included sitting on the new deck with the birds, waking up to the roar of the ocean, and seeing 32 koalas on Grey River Road - not all of them asleep.” Ruth, Richard, Jamie and Nathan, England.

April 07 “We've had a fantastic time.  Something for everyone.  Views were fantastic, loads of wildlife.  Dog friendly - what more could we ask for!” Michael, Janelle and Tom, Sadie and Missy.

April 07 “Thanks for a really relaxing time.  We all, including Ralph, feel rejuvenated and ready to go back to the city.  Phil also proposed and I said yes. Thanks for a memorable experience.”  Nicole, Phil and Ralph.

April 07 “The only downside to Treetops is that it is very hard to leave ‘Paradise’.  Thanks for sharing this beautiful home and location.” Lyn.

March 07 “We had a wonderful stay at Treetops and wish we had more time.  Three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels were comfortable, had room to run outside safely and thoroughly enjoyed all the swims at the beach.  We’ll be recommending you to our friends.  Thanks so much from “the Barbers”.

March 07 “Our much anticipated visit to Treetops was all that we hoped for and more.  The abundant life in the forest, the spectacular views and the welcoming house has been a real treat.  We also love all of the indigenous art - this place is good for the soul.” Kate, Jan and Gemma.

March 07 “From a very patriotic and passionate West Australian – sensational! - many thanks”. Ace M.

March 07 “Treetops has inspired us - we want a beautiful coastal holiday house.  Thank you for sharing yours with us.” Freya and Joe.

Feb 07 “We are leaving tomorrow after six days and I am very sad.  Mummy, daddy and I (Joe, aged 3 ¾ years) had a fab time here.  Fed the parrots every day in the morning and at night.  Mummy had a kookaburra on her knee.  We saw two koalas fighting up the tree across the balcony.  They were very loud.  I walked up the hill all on my own, from the lovely beach.  Mummy and daddy told me they love the house and the Great Ocean Road.  Daddy needed a rest from work and Mummy needed some fresh air – we live in Jakarta.  Thank you for letting us stay here.” Joe, with his parents.

Feb 07 “Thank you for sharing your house with us.  All had a fantastic time including Bailey the dog, who eventually mastered the stairs.  We all loved the views and the birds -- they would get really fat if we stayed here too long, as everyone wanted to keep feeding them.” Val and John, Eltham.

Feb 07 “We have enjoyed our quiet and peaceful two days at Treetops - nice to get away from the rat race.  Loved the king parrots feeding from our hands - so tame.  Shame we couldn't have stayed longer as Molly our pooch was getting to like it too.” Richard and Sue.

Feb 07 “Although we all enjoyed our stay, it was Bear who had the most fun at Treetops -whether it’s befriending the birds (who have yet to appreciate her curiosity) or tasting the flies, Bear has had a grand time traipsing on your flowers.  And yes we let it mellow. Treetops was appropriately named. I think we have all fallen in love with the birds!  The views are spectacular and we were all up at six for the walk to the beach for sunrise.” Bear, Kat, Dave et al.

Feb 07 “Our third time here in a year and still can't get enough.  This time bought my sister and her two kids from the US. We saw starfish and crabs in the tidal pools, and feeding the parrots made our day.  Molly, the labrador feels right at home!  We'll e-mail some pictures.” Stephanie and Molly.

Feb 07 “Our stay at Treetops was a real good experience. Our two dogs Bubby and Shredder loved the birds, water, sand and most of all the stairs.  It was so beautiful and relaxing, it got my partner to propose to me.  The views were perfect and we finally got around all the bugs.  The house is amazing, each window has a beautiful view and the dogs got a little confused about going up the stairs or down.  Overall our stay here was wonderful, we will be back one day. P.S. I said yes to his proposal.” C & M, Bubby and Shredder.

Dec 06 "Talk about gorgeous accommodation! " Bettina and Gareth Mitchell.

Oct 06 "Just when you think you've been the best places, Treetops comes along!  It tops the list!  The birds are awesome, we could watch them all day. We saw the biggest koala ever drinking water from the river under the Wye bridge.  Sorry to be leaving this special place and the indigenous art. Loved it!!" Barb and Kevin, Queensland.

Oct 06 "It’s been a great pleasure staying in this truly wonderful house at Wye River.  The views from the balcony and the birds are fantastic. We would all love to come back again, many thanks." The Thomases, UK.

April 06 "What a wonderful time we had at Treetops for the last 3 days. My sister and I are from England and we came to stay with my son and his family who brought us here for our last part of our holiday. Such fantastic accommodation in the trees, feeding the birds and seeing so much of your beautiful country-side as we could in such a short space of time. This is certainly a place we would love to come back to again. Thank you." The Cutters from UK.

March 06 "Treetops is beautiful, charming, tranquil, relaxing, rejuvenating - spectacular accommodation all in a gorgeous bush setting. The Great Ocean Road doesn't get any better than this." Sami and Ryan Hisheh.

Feb 06 "Like everyone who has visited before us, we loved everything about Treetops.  The fantastic view of the Wye River beach below, with beautiful clear water and sun shining on the sand. Hoping we can be back to share “our special place” with friends who will also come to visit Treetops." D, S and Tanook.

Feb 06 "We go away calmer and satisfied to take these feelings back into the world we came from.  It's been wonderful to get a glimpse of the world behind the trees, at the side of the mountain, looking over the ocean from the windows and balcony of Treetops. Thank you." Ros and Peter.

Jan 06 "Thanks for the experience of living in the trees. Our son adored the birds & Koalas and we adored the house, its décor and the relaxed feeling that comes with it. Cheers very much". M and J.

Nov 05 “I made the first of many visits to Wye River when I was six weeks old and now my husband has brought me back for my 60th birthday so that I may retrace my childhood steps. I am delighted to say that in the intervening decades nothing has spoiled the special place in my heart. It remains a paradise. Thank you to all the ‘locals’, furred and feathered who gave us such a warm welcome. Let’s hope we pass this way again.” (Lynne and Rob Canberra).

Nov 05  “What a lovely home away from home. We made friends with the King Parrots and many Crimson Rosellas and the Sulphur Crested Cockatoos. I saw two Koalas on the walk to the Wye River beach and we saw 7 more on Grey River Road. One Kookaburra in view from the balcony and a few wrens. Thank you.” (Heather and Robin UK)

Nov 05  “An idyllic escape for a couple of days. Refreshing for the mind, body and soul. Loved the birds! Moet and Kismet say thank you and many woofs for letting them stay too. They romped on the Wye River beach!”(Rose and Tony)

Nov 05  “What superb accommodation - a place to refresh those batteries. To be awoken by the numerous birds, and hear the waves trundling into shore, surely there can be no better ‘utopia’ than this? The Treetops view to the ocean is sublime and getting to feed the birds by hand (literally) was an experience not to be missed. Coming from the Kimberley’s in WA it was such a novelty preparing the wood fire and even more of a challenge to keep it going (managed by the 2nd night). The ambience is one of peaceful and calming thoughts, even our dog was calm.” (Donnelle and Ian and our dog, Jess)

Nov 05  “Best view ever of ‘Billy’ the resident Koala. He was sitting at waist height on the tree trunk staring up into my face from about a metre away just next to the carport. “Oh, who are you?” he seemed to be saying and then snuggled a little more into the tree trunk. Meanwhile Tashi and Tenzing (Aussie terriers) were dancing on back legs behind the front door, “we want to say hello to Billy too.” (R and S)

Oct 05 “Absolute magic amongst the tree tops. After all it’s not every day you get to have a King Parrot on top of your head and shoulders eating out of your hand. It’s not every day you see a row of 12 cockatoos all being ‘butch about it’ on the railing. Or a Koala bundled up in a ball up a tree at eye level to you. Gorgeous views of the ocean, cosy, relaxing home and our dog couldn’t have been happier either. We will definitely be back – longer next time. Well done.” ( C&N and Murphy)

Sept 05 - “Day 1. - Within an hour of arriving we were so in love with this place. Already we had named the male King Parrot “George” as he was sitting on our arms and eating out of our hands. Then walking along the beach at sunset we were greeted by a school of bottle necked dolphins. There are no words to fully capture the feeling of serenity and peace. The bird life is just amazing. We were greeted by a bird that looked like a cross between a Magpie and a Crow. Thanks for the book that helped us identify him as a Pied Currawong.

Day 2 - Thousands of birds around today. Love the King Parrots so much they are beautiful. Have emailed pics of them around the world to friends and family already. Silly us went out and left the bird seed jar outside. It had the lid on, but by the time we got back it was empty.

Day 3 -Woke to a Koala straight outside the lounge window. Watched him come down the tree and up another. How do they balance? What BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS THEY ARE. This place imparts such a feeling of tranquility. it’s a perfect spot to get away from it and just sit. I love it. Dinner down at the most beautiful pub in the world (Wye River pub) topped off a brilliant day.

Day 4 - Back home today. We’ll be back.” (Stensons and Coopers)

Sept 05  “We had a lovely time relaxing here. The Wye River bird life and the resident koala have been entertaining to watch. Thank you for having us”. (Lisa and Anthony, Bonnie and Dharma)

Sept 05 "Zena, Remi (our babies, woof) and us had a most rejuvenating time. We are all happy we chose Treetops to get away. The house is wonderful and nothing has been forgotten, there is everything that is needed to make us feel at home. We feel like we have lived here for years. From the ocean views, to the cosy fire, the sound of the rain on the roof and the waves crashing at night. Feeding the birds was such a delight. I’ve even named my favourite King Parrot Roger. He let us get so close we could kiss his head and always ate from our hand whilst sitting on our arms. (We’ll miss him.) Oh, and our dogs - well on their behalf I’ll say they felt right at home. It’s the first holiday away with them and the celebration of Ang’s 30th birthday. This has been a trip we’ll be talking about for years. Woof woof, bye, bye. Thanks”. (Fady, Ang, Remi and Zena).

Aug 05  “Loved watching the pecking order for the feeding – easy to see where the term ‘boss cocky’ comes from, no-one else gets a look-in when they’re around.” (Sue, Andy, Maxine and Murray).

Aug 05  “What a great 10 days to escape the ‘rat race’! We had a very relaxing time. The accommodation was great and very cosy. Also great to be able to bring ’Pebbles’ our beautiful golden retriever. She even got to meet a seal that was sunbaking on the rocks. Woof woof!” (Jen, Pete and Pebbles).

July 05  “So many visitors – unlike the city kind- these were very welcome. Rosellas, cockies, finches, parrots, Mr Fox (from a distance) and Mr Koala certainly had the dogs in a spin. Love the sunken lounge and the magnificent views. Couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing week.” Christie, Mark, (Beth, Billie and Tess – all dogs). PS. don’t forget your camera when you have lunch at the Wye River Pub – Mr Kookaburra loves his photo taken, he also loves his chopped ling pieces.”

June 05  "I wanted to just let you know also that the setup of the house was superb! We have stayed in many holiday houses and different accommodation in Victoria and South Australia and I can say that Treetops is kitted out the best! It looks like you put a lot of thought into small details. Very nice." Andy J  - also see picture of chocky in Friends of Treetops page

March 05  "I stayed at Treetops with two friends over from England for a wedding. We all said we want to live here. The house has everything. Everything fits together, from the Aboriginal paintings, to the fire, to the book on the birds. And all the details just work, there's nothing more we might want. Some other friends stayed in Separation Creek, and we said, 'You have to come and have a look at this house!'. My friends loved breakfast on the balcony, and the birds, MY GOD, HOW MANY BIRDS! They just knew what time to come to be fed. There was even a Koala nearby, and we went for a drive and saw lots more” (Anna)

Jan 05  “Far better than we imagined. Can't wait to come back.” (F family).

Dec 04  ”We all loved Treetops.” (D, J, A, L and dogs Charlie and Luna).

Nov 04  ”Perfect! The minute I walked in and saw this place I was sad - I knew I'd have to leave in 7 days.” (M and N).

Oct 04  ”Had a fab time, what a package. Ocean views, comfort and all the birds. I loved it so much I bought a Tatts ticket so I can buy Treetops for myself. Thanks.” (J & W).

Oct 04  ”A great time ....first ever koala, cockatoo, king parrot, crimson rosella, magpie and - huntsman! Thanks.” (C Family, Canada).

Sept 04  ”That was quality!!! But 2 nites not enough!!! :)” (N and F).

Aug 04  “Gorgeous setting, very comfortable home, all we could want to make us cosy.” (D&J).

Aug 04 ”You can always count on nature to bring you back to peace. Wye River has it all.” (L&D).

Aug 04 ”Treetops was all I had hoped for and more. Cheers.” (A&T).

July 04 ”It’s hard to leave! Peaceful and beautiful. Constant amusement provided by the wildlife. Wonderful, cosy home and we love the feeling of Wye River village.”(Jane, Pete).

July 04 ”A lovely home to stay in, some of the best accommodation yet. We’ve seen Yellow Eastern Robins, Treecreepers, Red Browed Firetails, as well as, of course numerous Crimson Rosellas. Thank you so much for the peace, we’ll certainly be back.” (The Ross Family).
